I am a recent graduate of the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism with a B.A. in Multiplatform Journalism and a minor in Global Poverty. And I just finished up this summer editing on the foreign-national desk at The New York Times. There, I was able to perfect editing and headline writing skills, while learning from some of the best in the business. But more importantly, I was also enabled to learn more about politics, social and socioeconomic issues around the world.
During my time in college, I also worked at Maryland's independent student newspaper, two national publications, a statewide wire service and a few local newsrooms close to my hometown in Mount Airy, Maryland. Supervisors have told me that I am a self-starter, a bright light in the newsroom and a pleasure to work with in groups and individually. I am a quick learner, a team player and am enthusiastic about finding innovative ways to solve problems.

I am now working as Bloomberg BNA's first digital editor in the Environment, Health and Safety section, where I assign stories to and edit for a team of four reporters, and focus the rest of my time on creating graphics, managing social media accounts and digital strategies.
